Virtual Desktop: Besser als Air Link dank neuer Rendertechnik?

Virtual Desktop bietet jetzt ein Feature für Oculus Quest 2, das bislang Air Link vorbehalten war. Davon profitieren insbesondere anspruchsvolle PC-VR-Spiele.

Das jüngste Update bringt Unterstützung für Synchronous Spacewarp (SSW), eine von Virtual Desktop-Entwickler Guy Godin entwickelte Rendertechnik, die ähnlich wie Facebooks Asychronous Spacewarp (ASW) funktioniert.

Die Rift-Plattform unterstützt ASW seit Ende 2016, 2019 erschien das verbesserte ASW 2.0. Oculus Quest 2 nutzt Asychronous Spacewarp, wenn man PC-VR-Streaming via Air Link nutzt.
